Hi! We met your friends in Weslaco in January (at church)..they told us about your year..we will be in High Island the week you plan to be there.( we will be there April 16-21)…any chance we could meet? we plan to do a “mini-bigyear” next year!
The best things to do are get the Southeast Arizona Birding Guide (“Lane Guide”), join the Arizona bird listserve (BIRDWG05), and check the eBird map that is available on birdingonthe.net. Our personal favorites are: Patagonia Lake State Park, Patagonia/Sonoita Creek Preserve, Paton’s House, Box Canyon Road and Madera Canyon, Cave Creek, Portal/Paradise, and Saguaro National Monument.

I am going to be in Tuscon on April 18th through 23rd. I am coming from Salt Lake city and looking for some good places to bird.
